IF YOU’RE NOT A SQUIRREL...

Beware of the oak in every season
but this fall there’s a special reason,
which has to do with the acorn crop,
and a certain sheer hundred-foot drop,
that can send an acorn hurtling down
right through a bare or be-hatted crown.
So step lively when passing by our tree,
when acorns start hurtling they cannot see.
