'FIRST MATE'
For Anita Pearson, 27 years
Starting next September
she won't be where she's
been as long as I can
remember,
Anita's been the L-S Regional hub
whether you needed advice,
a phone line, or a
sub,
when a xerox machine broke down,
stand back! that's when Anita
really went to
town,
she was there when you needed a favor
even if it involved something
she didn't particularly
savor,
or those times my wife would call
because my son got sick and
she'd flag me down in the
hall,
through it all, the keys that got lost,
the kids who needed help,
in short, the everyday
tempest-toss't,
she manned her battle station
like the school's First Mate,
and she commanded with
imagination,
thus she bravely sailed the L-S main
oh, without her the voyage
never would have been the
same,
no, starting next September
she won't be where she's
been as long as I can
remember.
